On Thursday 13 January the Departmental of Resources released a draft policy on mandating of COVID-19 vaccinations for consultation, which proposes to cover the majority of staff.
Together and staff have been given the opportunity to provide feedback by Thursday 27 January. The proposed policy would require staff to have their first vaccination by 11 February and be fully vaccinated by 3 March.
Together members employed in Resources are already being balloted to determine our union’s position about a possible employer mandate within the Department. The ballot of union members will now close on 27 January to align with the timetable for feedback to the employer.
Some parts of the Department are already covered by the Chief Health Officer’s direction in relation to state-run museums and libraries.
Together delegates will be meeting next week to review the policy proposal in addition to the policy position which is being determined by the ballot of all members.
