Each State Government department with staff employed in 1 William Street has adopted a standard policy requiring staff and visitors to be vaccinated.
These policies were individually announced by employers on Wednesday 12 January and follow consultation with Together and staff employed in 1 William Street. Together members working in the building supported the introduction of the mandate, despite significant concerns about the timing and length of the consultation period.
The standard policy requires staff to have had their first vaccination by Monday 23 January and their second vaccination by 20 February.
While announcing the 1 William Street decision to staff, a number of departments have indicated that they are considering introducing vaccination mandates beyond just 1 William Street.
Together is also aware that a number of departments are currently undertaking risk assessments for shared tenancy buildings on behalf of the other public service employers within these buildings.
